JACKIE'S FIGHT NIGHT

The BIG ROCKOUT, a professional boxing event in Atlanta held at the Westin Peachtree on Saturday, August 28th, showcased some of the best professional boxers in the Southeast. Only two women participated in the six bout challenge. Our group of twenty friends attended to watch and support our good friend Jackie Breitenstein who boxed Leslie McNamara in an exhibition fight.

Jackie, born in Houston, Texas, in 1976, is a dedicated recreational therapist working with patients at Shepherd Spinal Center in Atlanta. Jackie was awarded MVP on the University of Texas rowing team in her senior year. She then attended graduate school at UNC. As a light welterweight boxer since 2001, slugger Jackie has won Knock Outs in all four of the boxing matches she’s boxed in. A natural talent, she can mop the floor with a boxing opponent. This soft-spoken beautiful brunette trains relentlessly at Decatur Boxing Club in Atlanta with world champion professional boxing trainer Terri Moss.

Jackie’s opponent cancelled at the last minute, so she was forced to fight an exhibition match. Swathed in a white silk hooded robe trimmed in red, Jackie, pumping and jogging as she entered the room to the sounds of D.J. Kalid’s ALL I DO IS WIN, followed by a posse of female boxing friends, brought the crowd to its feet. She’s an Atlanta favorite.

Using a series of hooks, cross punches, counterpunches, and power punches, Jackie nailed her opponent who, after four rounds, was saved by the bell. The 900 person crowd, dressed to the nines, included Evander Holyfield, who was there to accept the Ring of Honor for his contributions and accomplishments in boxing.

Great entertainment and such skill deserves appreciation! I can't wait until the October boxing event when our friend Mike Brown debuts as THE SITUATION!
